Commentary: This print is from a series of 11 known etchings depicting traditional fiestas in small villages in the state of Tabasco. It depicts the interior of the Ermita de San Francisco del Pial in the village of Quintín Aráuz, Municipio de Centla, where votive ships hang from the ceiling. Other etchings in the series depict the exterior of the church and the Danza del Caballito Blanco, danced there every July 4. (Peter Schneider)
