Cataloging note: This image is usually attributed to Xavier Guerrero, likely on the basis of a lithograph version of the logo bearing Guerrero's initials (Prignitz 1693), an impression of which is held by the Academia de Artes, Mexico City and illustrated in  Prignitz 1992, 59 and Prignitz 2018, ch. 1. However,  Méndez's participation in the authorship of the image is suggested by a sketch of the logo logo in Méndez's 1938 agenda, held in the Fondo Documental Leopoldo Méndez at the Centro Nacional de Investigación, Documentación e Información de Artes Plásticas (Cenidiap), Mexico City,  CNAP-FR-LM-C12-E575-D1520/ 6.1.2. The nature and extent of Méndez's involvement in the design and/or execution of the linocut is unknown. (Peter Schneider)
