Commentary: This publication, summarizing and celebrating the growth in school construction throughout Mexico from 1944 to 1946, was produced in collaboration with the Taller de Gráfica Popular. Lena Bergner was in charge of the statistical charts, Albe Steiner was in charge of layout, and Hannes Meyer was in charge of overall design and coordinated the illustrations. The book contained chapters for each Mexican state, each featuring a line drawing by a TGP member. Méndez was responsible for two of the illustrations, for the states of Coahuila and Sonora. The other participating artists were Ignacio Aguirre, Ángel Bracho, Alberto Beltrán, Fernando Castro Pacheco, Jesús Escobedo, Galo Galecio, Arturo García Bustos, Francisco Mora, Isidoro Ocampo, Pablo O'Higgins, Mariana Yampolsky, and Alfredo Zalce.
